How to File RTI with DSSSB — Exam Marks, Cut-off, Answer Key and Selection List
Step-by-step guide to file an RTI with the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) under GNCTD for DSSSB exam marks, category-wise cut-off marks, official answer key, final selection/merit list, document verification rejection reason, and appointment order status. Covers posts for Delhi Government teachers (TGT/PGT), clerks, JEs, and other subordinate services. Includes a ready-to-use sample RTI draft.
The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is constituted by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) to recruit candidates for a wide range of subordinate service posts across Delhi Government departments — including teachers (TGT/PGT), clerks, lower division clerks (LDC), junior engineers (JE), patwaris, and various other Group B and Group C posts. DSSSB conducts written examinations, skill tests, and document verification for these positions.
DSSSB is a public authority under Section 2(h) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. Citizens — particularly candidates appearing in DSSSB recruitment processes — can file RTI applications to obtain their own exam marks, official answer keys, category-wise cut-off marks, final selection/merit lists, document verification outcomes, and appointment order status. Results are published at dsssb.delhi.gov.in — check the official website first before filing an RTI, as some information may already be available there.
DSSSB vs. SSC vs. UPSC — Know the Right Body
Delhi residents frequently confuse DSSSB, SSC, and UPSC. Using the wrong portal or appealing to the wrong commission causes avoidable delays.
| Body | Recruits For | RTI Filing Portal | Second Appeal Body |
|---|---|---|---|
| DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board) | Delhi Government posts (teachers, clerks, JE, LDC, patwari, etc.) | rti.delhi.gov.in | DIC (Delhi Information Commission, Section 15) |
| SSC (Staff Selection Commission) | Central Government posts (CGL, CHSL, MTS, CPO, etc.) | rtionline.gov.in | CIC (Central Information Commission) |
| UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) | Central Government Group A/B posts (IAS, IPS, IFS, etc.) | rtionline.gov.in | CIC (Central Information Commission) |
Key rule: DSSSB is a Delhi State body under GNCTD. Any RTI against DSSSB must be filed at rti.delhi.gov.in and second appeals go to DIC, not CIC.

What Specific Information Can You Ask For
- Own exam marks — Section-wise and total marks obtained in the written examination for a specific post code and exam date, when DSSSB results only show pass/fail status.
- Category-wise cut-off marks — The minimum qualifying or selection cut-off marks for each category (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD) for a specific post code, for the written exam, skill test, and/or final selection.
- Official answer key — The official or revised answer key for a specific DSSSB examination and post code, including any modifications made after the challenge/objection process and the reasons for those changes.
- Final selection/merit list — The final merit list and ranking for a specific post code, showing the criteria used to prepare the list and the roll numbers or aggregate data for selected candidates.
- Document verification result — Whether your documents were accepted or rejected during verification, the specific document(s) found deficient, and the exact rule or advertisement clause invoked for rejection.
- Appointment order status — Whether appointment letters have been issued for selected candidates for a specific post code, the date of issue, and if pending, the reason for the delay.
Where to File: rti.delhi.gov.in
DSSSB is a Delhi State body. File your RTI at rti.delhi.gov.in — not at rtionline.gov.in (which is for Central Government bodies).
Step-by-step:
- Visit rti.delhi.gov.in and register or log in.
- Click File RTI Application.
- Under the department selection, choose Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB).
- Fill in your personal details (name, address, phone, email).
- In the application body, paste your draft with your roll number, post code, exam date, and specific questions.
- Pay the application fee of ₹10 online. BPL cardholders attach a copy of their BPL card and are exempt from the fee.

Postal filing: You may also send a written RTI application by post to the PIO at DSSSB's address: FC-18, Institutional Area, Karkardooma, Delhi – 110092, along with a demand draft or Indian Postal Order of ₹10 drawn in favour of the Accounts Officer, DSSSB.
Appeals
First Appeal — First Appellate Authority (FAA) at DSSSB
If the PIO does not respond within 30 days, or the response is incomplete or unsatisfactory, file a First Appeal under Section 19(1) of the RTI Act with the First Appellate Authority (FAA) at DSSSB — an officer senior in rank to the PIO. The First Appeal must be filed within 30 days of the date of the decision or the expiry of the 30-day response period, whichever is applicable.
Second Appeal — Delhi Information Commission (DIC)
If the FAA also fails to respond or the response remains unsatisfactory, file a Second Appeal with the Delhi Information Commission (DIC) under Section 15 of the RTI Act within 90 days of the FAA's decision or the date on which it should have been made.
DSSSB is a Delhi State body — the Second Appeal goes to DIC, not to the Central Information Commission (CIC). Filing a second appeal with CIC against DSSSB will be rejected as CIC has no jurisdiction over Delhi State public authorities.
The DIC has powers under Section 19 read with Section 20 of the RTI Act to impose a penalty of ₹250 per day (up to ₹25,000) on a PIO who fails to comply with the Act without reasonable cause, and can also recommend disciplinary action.
